The 2026 National Financial Case Study Competition has concluded

The 24th National Financial Case Study Competition has concluded. This event was organized by the Kautz Gyula Economics Student Association.

The event, in which secondary schools played a leading role alongside universities, demonstrated the importance of collaboration in the financial sector.

In addition to the university competitors, a high school section was also launched in 2026, with the final taking place on January 30, 2026. A total of 17 teams participated in the event across the two sections, resulting in a total of 68 participants (36 university students and 32 high school students).

The competition began with an online round, in which the university section teams had 12.5 hours to solve the case, while the high school teams had five days to work out their solutions (details).

Four prizes were awarded in both the high school (details) and university (details) sections.

The announcement of the results of the university section of the competition also included the award ceremony for the Kautz Gyula Economics Student Association‘s excellence program, with the following members of the college receiving awards (details):

In 2026, the Organizational Excellence Award was also presented for dedicated work on behalf of the community. The following members have been honored:

  • Fanny Bodó
  • Hanna Kurcsi

This year, the organizers reached a significant milestone: for the first time in the history of the competition, they recognized the most persistent participants (details). The OPEV Loyalty Award was presented to the following competitors in recognition of their exceptional professional perseverance and consistent repeat competition:

  • Eszter Lukács (University of Miskolc)
  • Mária Dóra Várkonyi (University of Miskolc)

During the competition, numerous programs were made available to the competitors, allowing them to make a lasting impression at the competition venue.

The program also included a visit to the Apátúr Brewery in Győr, where university competitors had the opportunity to learn about the practice of beer brewing.

Overall, the competition was a resounding success, with a seamless execution that showcased the remarkable talent and dedication of the participants.
