Tourism and Hospitality lecturers Dr. Viktória Kundi, Anikó Husz and their students took part in the conference organized on the occasion of World Tourist Guide Day 2026 at the invitation of the Commercial Section of the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry on February 10, 2026. The conference’s professional program presented the BKIK’s past and future role in Budapest tourism, the current situation and future issues of tour guide education, and discussed the increasingly important topic of digitalization in tourism.
Dr. Viktória Kundi, head of department, gave a presentation entitled “The Future of Tour Guiding: AI and Generations,” which was listened to with great interest by the professional audience. In her presentation, she highlighted that today, the needs of generations X, Y, and Z for tour guide services are completely different. While social media has a limited impact on generation X, for generation Z, the quality of the digital experience is just as important as the service itself.
