Professional internship

During your studies, you’ll also have to do an internship, which isn’t just a requirement, but a real opportunity. During your internship, you’ll get to see how your chosen profession works in everyday life and gain valuable experience that could give you an edge when looking for a job later on.

The internship also provides an opportunity to build professional relationships and get to know future employers and colleagues. In many cases, the internship can even serve as a future workplace.

General information

The deadline for completing the administrative tasks related to registering for professional practice for the spring semester of the 2025/2026 academic year (finalizing your application on the karrier.sze.hu website) is the end of the first working week of the semester, Friday at 2 p.m. (see the faculty regulations available under the link to the legal background of professional practice).

The deadline for submitting the professional internship report, uploading a copy of the company certificate, and submitting the original certificate is:
May 15, 2026, 12:00 p.m.
(Please do not submit the professional internship report in printed form.)

The original company certificate should be submitted to: Széchenyi István University Management Campus 210, to the attention of Judit Merkó-Benkő.

Mandatory professional internship

In order to successfully complete your studies, you must complete a mandatory internship in the following fields, in accordance with the requirements of the sample curriculum.

Bachelor programmes
  • Business and Administration and Management BSc – (in English and Hungarian) 12 consecutive weeks
  • International Business Economics BSc – two semesters in the 2024 and 2025 sample curriculum: Internship in domestic environment, 2x6 weeks or 12 consecutive weeks, and Internship in international environment, 12 consecutive weeks

Conditions for starting the internship:

Professional practice can only be started if the value of credits earned during studies up to that point reaches the specified minimum.

  • Bachelor's programme: from 165 credits

Place of internship:

  • Students may bring their own institutional connections, but in this case, it is still necessary to sign a study contract.

Professional internship subject

In order to successfully complete your studies, you must complete a mandatory internship in the following fields, in accordance with the requirements of the sample curriculum.

Bachelor programmes
  • Business Administration and Management BSc (in English) - (included in the 2017 sample curriculum) full-time program: KGNB_GETA028, distance learning program: KGLB_GETA028
  • International Business Economics BSc – 2 semesters in 2024 and 2025 curriculums: KGNB_NETA096 Internship in domestic environment in full time programme, KGTB_NETA096 Internship in Domestic Enviroment, KGTB_NETA100 Internship in International Enviroment in distance learning

Documentation

  • For a 6-week internship, prepare a 5,000-character (including spaces) report.
  • For 12- and 14-week internships, preparation of a 20,000-character (including spaces) report

The report must include the student’s personal details, the location of the work, a description of the activities performed, an evaluation of the work performed at the organization, and the student’s self-evaluation.
