“The Economic Aspects of Decision-Making – What Does It Take to Be an Economist?” Professional Competition

We warmly welcome our future students to the Kautz Gyula Faculty of Business and Economics at Széchenyi István University!
Our annual professional competition is a fantastic opportunity to explore the foundations of economic thinking even before starting university. It allows you to get to know our campus, meet our professors and future peers, and begin your integration into university life.

Participants are required to prepare a 16–20 page project report that strictly follows formal academic requirements. The report should analyze a real or simulated issue related to tourism or a tourism-related field. Solutions must be based on macro-environmental factors and indicators, as well as corporate financial indicators. The project should conclude with the development of a marketing plan based on either the 4P or 7P model.

The competition culminates in a presentation, where teams present their project in a 10-minute talk followed by a 5-minute Q&A discussion.

Through engaging and professionally designed tasks, high school students can gain valuable insights into economic decision-making while becoming part of our academic community.

This event is also a great first step toward becoming familiar with university life.

Don’t miss out on this experience – join us and find out what it really means to be an economist!
