Call for Applications – 2025 Mobility Requests under Bilateral Academic Agreements

Date and Location of the Call:
The President of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences announces the “Call for 2025 Mobility Requests for One-time Trips under Bilateral Academic Agreements.”
Funding may be used for trips conducted under the framework of bilateral agreements with partner institutions, taking place after the publication of this call but no later than December 15, 2025.

Location: Destination countries vary depending on the relevant bilateral partner institution.

Main Topics and Target Audience:
The aim of the call is to foster international scientific collaboration by providing financial support for individual one-time trips of members of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
Eligible trips must support or enhance scientific cooperation established under existing bilateral academic agreements.
Target audience: Members of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences planning international scientific travel to partner institutions.

Final submission deadline: October 31, 2025, 12:00 PM (CET)

Note: Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis until the available budget is exhausted—early submission is encouraged!

Participation Fees and Additional Details:
Type of support: One-time, non-refundable financial support, provided it is used lawfully

Total financial budget available for 2025: HUF 15,000,000

Each applicant may submit a maximum of two requests under this call

Exclusions: Travel realized under the funding scheme of the Royal Society of Edinburgh is not eligible

Optional Programs and Opportunities:
The mobility grant supports independent scientific travel; it is not tied to specific events or conferences. However, applicants are encouraged to organize their own scientific activities (e.g., lectures, research visits) that clearly contribute to and reflect bilateral academic cooperation.
