Réka Szabados recently received her diploma at the graduation ceremony of the Kautz Gyula Faculty of Business and Economics at Széchenyi István University, continuing her family’s multi-generational connection to the institution. Both her mother and grandfather also earned their degrees here.
Her grandfather, Nándor Németh, graduated in 1975 from the College of Transport and Telecommunications Engineering with a specialization in railway operations. Throughout his career, he maintained a close relationship with the institution, supporting students as an external lecturer and a member of the state examination board. Although he would have been eligible this year to receive the gold diploma awarded to graduates of 50 years, he unfortunately did not live to see this milestone.
Her mother, Éva Szabados, earned her degree in economics at Széchenyi István College in 1994 and has remained connected to the university throughout her career. She found her first job at the job fair organized by the Győr-based institution and currently works as the head of a tax department at a company that partners with the university. Additionally, she has taken on a lecturing role in joint training programs of the Győr-Moson-Sopron County Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the university.
During her high school years, Réka Szabados grew fond of Győr, and alongside the family tradition, her decision was influenced by the successful careers her mother and grandfather built based on the knowledge they gained there. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she gained insight into her mother’s work, which sparked her interest in economic sciences, ultimately leading her to choose the commerce and marketing program at Széchenyi István University.
During her university years, she made numerous friends and professional connections. In her last two semesters, she balanced her studies with a job as a marketing coordinator at Leier Autó Kft., where she remains employed today. She considers the university in Győr an outstandingly strong professional and social environment. She plans to further expand her knowledge through a specialized postgraduate program starting in September, ensuring that she remains connected to her alma mater.
