Students from the Széll Kálmán International Scientific Student Association of the Kautz Gyula Faculty of Business and Economics, Széchenyi István University, achieved an outstanding second place at the CEEPUS Green Hackathon, an international case study competition hosted by Corvinus University of Budapest between 1–3 June 2026. The competition brought together talented university teams from across the CEEPUS network to develop innovative solutions addressing real-world sustainability challenges.
Representing Széchenyi István University, the student team worked intensively throughout the competition to develop a comprehensive business concept combining sustainability, innovation, and practical implementation. Their proposal was presented before an international jury consisting of academic and industry experts.
Following the presentation round, the Széchenyi University team advanced to the final debate session, where they defended their proposed solution against the team from the University of Zagreb. Their professional preparation, analytical thinking, and presentation skills ultimately earned them an excellent second place in the international competition.
The success further strengthens the growing reputation of the Széll Kálmán International Scientific Student Association as one of the University’s leading research-oriented talent development communities. The Association continuously encourages students to engage in scientific research, participate in international case study competitions, and develop practical problem-solving skills through close collaboration with academic mentors and industry partners.
The result also reflects the Kautz Gyula Faculty of Business and Economics’ strong commitment to experiential learning, international cooperation, and the development of future professionals capable of addressing complex sustainability and business challenges.
Dr. László Buics, Program Director of the Association and mentor of the team, highlighted that achievements like this are the result of months of dedicated preparation, teamwork, and continuous professional development.
