The Department of Tourism and Hospitality of Széchenyi István University is actively participating in the preparation of World Tour Guide Day

On January 15, 2026, Széchenyi István University was represented by
Dr. Viktória Kundi, Head of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality,
at the online meeting of the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BKIK).

Several key organizations and institutions participated in the professional meeting, including:

  • representatives of the Capital,
  • the Shopping Street Management,
  • the Budapest University of Economics (BGE),
  • and the Hungarian Tour Guides Association (MISZ).

The central topic of the meeting was the organization of programs related to World Tour Guide Day. According to the plans, the students of the Tourism and Hospitality Department of Széchenyi István University will actively participate in the World Day events:
– they will hold city walks,
– and participate in professional events organized by the BKIK and the related conference.

The program also provides opportunities to present its university training courses, so that Széchenyi István University can provide a comprehensive overview of the undergraduate, master’s and specialized further training opportunities offered in the field of tourism and hospitality, as well as the practice-oriented, market-based educational approach.

The initiative creates an excellent opportunity for students to gain experience in a real professional environment, and the university will then actively strengthen the visibility and social recognition of the tourism and tour guide profession.
