On March 18, 2026, Széchenyi István University hosted a special professional program again: the JazzPiknik festival team visited us. Orsolya Valde and her colleagues presented the history of the festival’s establishment, its operation and organizational processes within the framework of the Fundamentals of Event Organization course.
Its not the first time for JazzPiknik to visit Győr, which is a good indication of the stable, professional cooperation between the university and the festival. The special thing about this year’s visit is that the organizers have also brought a new project assignment for our students, covering an entire semester. Dr. Marcell Kupi and his marketing team are working on the assignment during the semester, closely linked to the current challenges of the festival.
This cooperation clearly confirms the success of project-based education at the Kautz Gyula Faculty of Economics. This is the second real-world project that our students have been able to work on, providing creative and innovative answers to problems directly arising from tourism and event management practice.
Initiatives of this type not only support the professional development of students, but also strengthen the relationship between the university and the tourism sector, contributing to practice-oriented training that is aligned with labor market expectations.
