The academic life of the Gyula Kautz Faculty of Economics is dynamic and diverse: students and lecturers regularly participate in scientific research, conferences, and professional publications. Faculty research is often based on innovation and international competitiveness, enabling members to acquire up-to-date, practice-oriented knowledge and methodological experience.
The faculty actively supports talent management and professional college communities, which provide talented students with organized, academically-based development opportunities.
The Scientific Student Conference (TDK) supports talented students in their voluntary scientific research work. It offers interested students the opportunity to conduct their individual research under the mentorship of teachers and researchers, and then present their results in the form of written papers and oral presentations.
The aim of the TDK is to strengthen commitment to research, develop professional self-expression, and prepare students for a career in science. The best projects from university conferences are eligible to participate in the National Scientific Student Conference (OTDK).
The OTDK is one of the most prestigious scientific forums in Hungarian higher education, held every two years, and provides students with the opportunity to present their research results at the national level, receive professional feedback, and build relationships within the scientific community.
The Scientific Student’s Associations Conference offers a unique opportunity to stand out from the crowd, to immerse yourself in a topic and to gain valuable professional experience during your university years.
The role of research and development (R&D) is increasingly important in the knowledge economy. Student research projects will help you to more easily join knowledge-intensive companies and industries, and even build hybrid career paths (e.g. research + business).
Employers look for the “plus” – participation in a TDK is a major professional added value
The TDK thesis is also recognized as a credit-bearing course – 5 credit points can be earned.
A well-written TDK thesis has the potential to be further developed into a thesis.
The best papers may be published in scientific journals, which could lead to a future research career
Through research and writing, you learn to craft creative, well-founded solutions to issues.
Learn to deal with pressure during presentations and in front of the committee, e.g. when responding to questions from the jury
A mentor assists your research – an exceptional form of individual learning
Opportunity to present at national conferences, gain valuable contacts and recognition
The TDK gives you the opportunity to explore new disciplines, approaches and perspectives
Public speaking develops your public speaking skills, which is an advantage in professional and work life

If any of the topics are of interest to you, please contact us at kgk.tdk@sze.hu!
The following topic suggestions posted by our instructors provide ideas for preparing a TDK thesis.
If any of the topics spark your interest, please contact the relevant supervisor.
For the successful participation in the TDK day, the following preparatory courses will be held during the semester, to which students interested in the TDK are welcome.
