Széchenyi István University held its ceremonial event commemorating the Hungarian Revolution and War of Independence of 1848–49 on 12 March 2026, during which several staff members and professional partners associated with the Kautz Gyula Faculty of Business and Economics received university recognitions.
In addition to the presentation of awards, the event also honoured colleagues who are retiring and bidding farewell to the university community after many years of dedicated service.
The following recognitions were awarded to members of the faculty:
Outstanding Staff Member Award
- Judit Merkó-Benkő, staff member of the Kautz Gyula Faculty of Business and Economics.

Honorary Associate Professor title
- Zoltán Schönléber, business consultant and owner of Z+R Consulting Ltd., who contributes to the university’s practice-oriented education and professional partnerships.
Honorary Professor title
- Attila Simon PhD, CEO of Herend Porcelain Manufactory Ltd., and lecturer at the Department of Corporate Leadership and Marketing.
Bakonyi István Excellent Lecturer Award
- Krisztián Koppány PhD, Associate Professor at the Department of International and Applied Economics.

Excellent Mentor Award
- Szabolcs Rámháp PhD, Associate Professor at the Department of Corporate Leadership and Marketing.

Governing Board Certificate of Appreciation (Gold Grade)
- Dániel Róbert Szabó PhD, Assistant Professor at the Department of Statistics, Finance and Controlling.

In recognition of their successful habilitation, the following colleagues received their habilitated doctoral titles:
- Ferenc Darabos PhD, Associate Professor at the Department of Tourism and Hospitality,
- Viktória Kundi PhD, Head of Department and Associate Professor at the Department of Tourism and Hospitality,
- András Szeberényi PhD, research fellow at Department of International and Applied Economics
During the ceremony, László Józsa PhD, Professor of the faculty, was also honoured on the occasion of his retirement, acknowledging his decades of dedicated teaching and research activity.
