Students from the Széll Kálmán International Scientific Student Association of the Kautz Gyula Faculty of Business and Economics, Széchenyi István University, achieved an outstanding third place at the case study competition organized by the Club of Corporate Logistics Leaders (NLVK).
Following nearly six months of preparation and four demanding competition rounds, the official award ceremony took place during the 20th Conference of the Club of Corporate Logistics Leaders in Siófok, one of Hungary’s most prestigious logistics events, attended by several hundred supply chain, logistics, procurement, and warehousing executives.
Throughout the competition, university teams were challenged with solving complex, real-life logistics and supply chain management problems provided by leading companies. Representing Széchenyi István University, the student team successfully completed all four competition rounds, demonstrating outstanding analytical thinking, strategic decision-making, and presentation skills.
The final stage of the competition required participants to present and defend their solutions before a jury composed of senior corporate executives and logistics professionals. The Széchenyi István University team delivered an exceptional performance, earning a prestigious third-place finish in the national competition.
This achievement represents a historic milestone, as it is the first time that a student team from the Kautz Gyula Faculty of Business and Economics has reached the podium in this highly competitive national event. The result further highlights the effectiveness of the University’s research-oriented talent development approach and the professional preparation provided within the Széll Kálmán International Scientific Student Association.
The Association continuously encourages students to participate in scientific research, case study competitions, and industry collaborations, enabling them to combine academic knowledge with practical business problem-solving in real corporate environments.
The success also reflects the Faculty’s commitment to experiential learning, close cooperation with industry, and the development of future professionals capable of addressing today’s complex logistics and supply chain challenges.
Dr. László Buics, Program Director of the Association and mentor of the team, emphasized that this achievement is the culmination of months of dedicated teamwork, continuous learning, and perseverance.

Beyond the excellent result, the experience itself is invaluable. I am extremely proud of our students and of the way they represented both our Faculty and the University throughout the entire competition.”
